Headache of all Headaches—Migraine

Migraine is a neurological syndrome that is characterized by severe headaches, altered bodily perceptions, and nausea with the occurrence of an aura, dazzling zigzag lines, sparkling lights, and colorful flashes of fireworks in your field of vision.This headache is usually on one side of the head, spreading sometimes to the eye and jaw areas, can be prevalent from 4 to 72 hours . Symptoms include nausea, vomiting, increased sensitivity to light or to sound.

First of all you should Determine what triggers your mi
graines and try avoiding it. Some of the triggers could be:
  • Infrequent eating and fasting
  • Sleep pattern changes
  • Hormonal changes
  • Loud noises, unusual odors, or bright lights
  • Triggers such as nuts, strong cheese, processed meats, artificial sweeteners, and citrus foods

What to do when it seems that you are having a Migraine attack?

  • Lie down in a quiet, dark room and try to relax.
  • Apply a cold washcloth to your head that will give you a lot of relief.
  • Drink a soda containing caffeine, or a cup of strong caffeinated coffee.
  • Use relaxing massage therapy and smoothly massage your head, neck, face, and shoulders.
  • If your doctor has prescribed drug therapy, take the recommended dosage at the onset of your migraine.

Some of the Pre-Migraine attack measures:
  • Eating Cannabis, butterbur rhizome extract, the plant feverfew are some traditional herbal remedies.
  • Include in your diet food that contains Riboflavin (also called Vitamin B2) and Vitamin B12.
  • Practice YOGA and also Exercise for 15–20 minutes per day as they are very helpful for reducing the frequency of migraines.
  • Sexual activity has been reported to relieve migraine pain significantly in some cases.
  • You can opt for Surgical process for reducing or preventing migraines ,but it is under research.
  • Get the Medications as per the prescription from a recognized Doctor only.

If it appears to you that a migraine is developing, take immediate actions to get relief from it. But if it continues for a long time, then immediately visit your doctor for the better treatment of the migraine.
